Taura Syndrome - TSV

Taura syndrome virus was discovered in Ecuador in 1992 and quickly spread to the Americas, Asia, causing much damage to farmers.
Virua Taura virus is picornavirus, of Picornaviridae, 20 spherical surface, about 31- 32 nm in size. The system is a circuit RNA genes. Parasitic virus epithelial cells and epithelial under the tail.

Taura syndrome is more common in white shrimp (Penaeus vannamei L. vannamei =) in the period from 14-45 days old culture, 0,05-7,0g size. It can also infect commercial shrimp.

TSV very dangerous disease, high incubation period, spread rapidly, can cause death from 40- 95% in the post shrimp, shrimp, large shrimp.

Patients may also TSV infection in black tiger shrimp (P. monodon), Japanese prawn (P. japonicus) and some other types of shrimp.

Common symptoms of the body and other parts are red or black roses, anorexia, or wedged into farming ponds.

Symptoms: TSV infected shrimp with symptoms similar to bacterial disease.

- Shrimp weak, meager, soft shell, intestine without food, swimming lazily in the water, pulled over the edge of the shore, and growth retardation. Hepatopancreas yellow than usual; gills, tail may be swollen. Body shrimp (tails, swim leg) with light red, pink, gray. When using a microscope observation of shrimp tails and swim leg will see signs of necrosis.

- In the acute phase, shrimp usually die during moulting. According to Vietnam Linh, aged 30-45 days, vannamei infected with TSV Acute massive death after refusing to eat for 2-3 days. First found dead shrimp appear at the bottom, then float to the surface of shrimp and shrimp died at the edge of the pond.

- If you live shrimp are peeled, they can recover and grow normally, though still ongoing viral infection.

- After the acute phase, epidermal necrosis will cause black spots on the body of shrimp, tail and legs occium swimming corrosion, due to Vibrio spp.

- Shrimp TSV infection chronic phase: there is no sign outside, only the diseased tissue in the organization of the cell lymphoma.

- Taura virus can infect black tiger shrimp (P. monodon) causes red tail: red lobster tail fan in the entire body and burn early next upstream; Cow foot, swimming legs are red. (According to Dr. Van Thi Hanh)

Diagnosis
- Traditional methods: review of clinical signs, agents coarse, histological and biological assays.

- Method antibodies: ELISA test, PCR test

Prevention and treatment TSV
Apply preventive synthesis method. Similarly MBV room, WSD and yellow head disease.

Prevention is the most effective: select the same germ-free after the last test or PCR method SPF (specific Pathogen Free).

Designed separate ponds, netting prevents pathogenic crustaceans into the pond, do not get water directly from untreated water sources, periodic complementary feeding increased drug resistance: vitamin C, minerals, probiotics .

When infected shrimp ponds, have antiseptic techniques, minimizing the spread over the other pond.
